SFC Daniel H. Petithory

Sergeant First Class Daniel H. Petithory, a Massachusetts native, was killed by friendly fire on 5 December 2001 when B-52 ordnance hit his position north of Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Petithory enlisted in the Army as a Military Policeman in 1987 and served at Fort Rucker, Alabama, before volunteering for the Special Forces Qualification Course. On graduating in 1992, Petithory was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
At the time of his death, SFC Petithory was a Communications Sergeant with 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
