SSG Brian C. Prosser

A native of California, Staff Sergeant Brian C. Prosser was killed by friendly fire on 5 December 2001 when B-52 ordnance hit his position north of Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Enlisting in the Army as a Military Policeman in 1991, Prosser completed Basic Combat Training and volunteered for Airborne training. Following assignment to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he completed the Intelligence Analyst Course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and served as an Intelligence Analyst in South Korea. On completion of that tour, Prosser joined the Military Intelligence Detachment of 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
At the time of his death, SSG Prosser was assigned as a Military Intelligence Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
