SPC Marc A. Anderson

Specialist Marc A. Anderson, of Brandon, Florida, was killed by enemy gunfire on 4 March 2002 during Operation ANACONDA at Takur Ghar in Eastern Afghanistan.

Anderson joined the Army on 15 July 1998 as an Infantryman. After completing Airborne training, he volunteered for assignment to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia. He graduated from the Ranger Course and was assigned as a machine gunner.

SPC Anderson was serving with 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM at the time of his death.
