CPT Bartt D. Owens

A native of Middletown, Ohio, Captain Bartt D. Owens was killed on 22 February 2002 in an MH-47 helicopter crash at sea, near Mindanao, in the Southern Philippines.
After being commissioned in 1994 from the U.S. Military Academy, Owens attended the Aviation Officer Course and was assigned to 7th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After completing Green Platoon in 1999, CPT Owens joined the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, and was assigned to Company E, Republic of Korea.
He was supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM-PHILIPPINES at the time of his death.
