Born in Olongapo, Philippines, Staff Sergeant Nino D. Livaudais died on 3 April 2003 of wounds sustained when a Vehicle-Borne improvised explosive device detonated at a checkpoint southwest of Haditha Dam, Iraq.
Livaudais enlisted in the Army in 1998 as an Infantryman and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following completion of Airborne training, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. He graduated from the Army Ranger Course in 1999.
SSG Livaudais deployed with 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment on Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and was supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM at the time of his death.
