SSG Aaron N. Holleyman

A native of Glasgow, Vermont, Staff Sergeant Aaron N. Holleyman died on 30 August 2004 from wounds received in action by an improvised explosive device near Khutayiah, Iraq.
Holleyman enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in June 1996. He completed Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, and the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, and joined the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In late 2003 he graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
SSG Holleyman was serving as a Medical Sergeant in 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group and was supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM at the time of his death.
