SGM Robert D. Odell

A native of Apple Valley, California, Sergeant Major Robert D. Odell died 21 December 2004 when a suicide bomber attacked a dining facility in Mosul, Iraq.

Odell enlisted in the Army in 1985 and later graduated from the Army Ranger Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served in a variety of assignments prior to graduating from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1989. He deployed in support of Operation JUST CAUSE and Operations DESERT SHIELD/STORM.

At the time of his death, SGM Odell was assigned to the Intelligence and Security Command, supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
