A resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sergeant Danton K. Seitsinger died on 29 January 2004 of injuries sustained when an ammunition dump exploded near Ghazni, Afghanistan.
Seitsinger enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1993 as a mortarman. In 2000 he left active duty and joined the U.S. Army Reserve, serving with the 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He graduated from the Civil Affairs Qualification Course, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
SGT Seitsinger was serving as a Civil Affairs NCO in 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM at the time of his death.
