MSG Joseph J. Andres, Jr.

A native of Garfield Heights, Ohio, Master Sergeant Joseph J. Andres, Jr. died 24 December 2005, when his unit was attacked during combat operations in Baqubah, Iraq, while supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
Andres enlisted as a Combat Medic in the Army Reserve in February 1992, and volunteered for active duty in April 1993.
MSG Andres graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course and was assigned as a Communications Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group. At the time of his death, he was a Special Operations Team member assigned to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
