A native of Clarks Grove, Minnesota, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Corey J. Goodnature died 28 June 2005 when his aircraft was struck by a rocket propelled grenade near Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
On graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1991, Goodnature joined the Army as a Parachute Rigger and was assigned to the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He attended the Warrant Officer Basic Aviation Course at Fort Rucker, Alabama, in 1995.
CW3 Goodnature completed Green Platoon in 1998, and was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia, where he served as a Pilot until his death.
