A native of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Sergeant Keith A. Kline died on 5 July 2007 in Baghdad, Iraq, while supporting Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Kline enlisted in the Army in 2002 as a Communications Systems Support Specialist. After completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia, he was assigned to 96th Civil Affairs Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

SGT Kline was assigned to 96th Civil Affairs Battalion, 95th Civil Affairs Brigade, when he was killed by an improvised explosive device that detonated near his vehicle.
