SPC George V. Libby

A native of Independence, Kentucky, Specialist George V. Libby died on 20 August 2007 near Khowst, Afghanistan, while supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
Libby enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in 2005 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After graduating from the Basic Airborne Course, he completed the Ranger Indoctrination Program.
SPC Libby was assigned as an automatic rifleman to 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington, when he sustained fatal injuries in a non-combat related accident.
