Raised in Defuniak Springs, Florida, Sergeant Timothy P. Padgett died on 8 May 2007 in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, while supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Padgett enlisted as a Special Forces Candidate in 2003. After attending Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, and Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, he graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2006.

SGT Padgett was assigned as a Medical Sergeant to 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, when he sustained fatal wounds during a firefight with enemy forces.
