Born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, Sergeant First Class Jeffrey M. Rada Morales died in a non-battle related accident on 29 June 2008 in Khosrow-E Sofla, Afghanistan.
Rada Morales enlisted in the Army as a Veterinary Technician in April 1995 and served at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, with the 248th Medical Detachment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. He joined the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School staff in 1999 as an animal care instructor. In 2007 he graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course and was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
SFC Rada Morales was supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as a senior Medical Sergeant in 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group, at the time of his death.
