CPL Benjamin S. Kopp

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Corporal Benjamin S. Kopp died on 18 July 2009 from wounds received in combat on 10 July 2009 in southern Afghanistan.

Kopp enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman and attended One Station Unit Training, and the Basic Airborne Course, at Fort Benning, Georgia. On graduation from the Ranger Indoctrination Program in June 2007 he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. He was a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger Course.

CPL Kopp was serving as a rifleman in 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment when he was killed during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
