SGT Jason A. Santora

A native of Bethpage, New York, Sergeant Jason A. Santora died on 23 April 2010 of wounds sustained during combat in Logar Province, Afghanistan.
Santora enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in March 2006 and completed his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, and the Basic Airborne Course, at Fort Benning, Georgia. Following graduation from the Ranger Indoctrination Program he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. He served as a mortarman and team leader during previous deployments in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
SGT Santora was serving as a team leader with 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment when he was killed supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
