A native of Portland, Oregon, Master Sergeant Danial R. Adams, died 13 September 2011, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
Adams enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in 1995. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia.
MSG Adams graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in July 2003 and was assigned as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant to 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, Stuttgart, Germany, where he was serving at the time of his death.
