A native of Orange Park, Florida, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Michael S. Duskin died 23 October 2012, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
Duskin enlisted in the Army as an Artilleryman in 1993. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia.
CW2 Duskin graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in August 1998 and was assigned as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant to 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, Birmingham, Alabama. Duskin graduated from the Special Forces Warrant Officer Course in May 2010 and was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served until his death.
