SSG Kashif M. Memon

A native of Houston, Texas, Staff Sergeant Kashif M. Memon died 25 October 2012, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Memon enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2001. He served for six years and in 2007 enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman.

SSG Memon graduated from Civil Affairs training in 2010 and was assigned to 96th Civil Affairs Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was serving as a Civil Affairs Team Engineer at the time of his death.
