CPT Jennifer M. Moreno

A native of San Diego, California, Captain Jennifer M. Moreno died on 6 October 2013, of wounds sustained from the detonation of an improvised explosive device while her unit was conducting combat operations in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

On graduating from the University of San Francisco, Moreno accepted a commission in the Army Nurse Corps. She was assigned to the Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

CPT Moreno was serving as a Cultural Support Team member attached to a Joint Special Operations Task Force at the time of her death.
