SSG Daniel T. Lee

A native of Crossville, Tennessee, Staff Sergeant Daniel T. Lee died 15 January 2014, of wounds sustained from enemy small arms fire while his unit was conducting combat operations in Parwan Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Lee enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in October 2007. After completing his Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

SSG Lee graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 2012 and was assigned as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served until his death.
