MSG Joshua L. Wheeler

Born in Roland, Oklahoma, Master Sergeant Joshua L. Wheeler was killed in action, 22 October 2015, near Hawijah, Iraq, in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.
Wheeler enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in May 1995 and completed Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, and Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, and 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, serving as a rifle team leader, squad leader, weapons squad leader, and anti-tank section leader.
MSG Wheeler was assigned as a Special Operations Team member, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in 2004, where he served until his death.
