SGT La David T. Johnson

Sergeant La David T. Johnson, a native of Miami Gardens, Florida, was killed while conducting a reconnaissance patrol near Tongo Tongo, Niger, on 4 October 2017.

Johnson enlisted in the Army in 2014 as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. After training at Fort Lee, Virginia, and graduation from Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

SGT Johnson was a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, when he was killed by enemy gunfire during contingency operations.
